Spend the Day Relaxing on Kaanapali Beach by Your Condo

The definition of a good vacation varies from person to person. But, regardless of your preferences, I think we all can agree that relaxing on a beach can’t be beat. And, when that beach is right out your front door? That’s just paradise. When you stay at Kaanapali Alii, you have access to the best beach in Maui – and it’s a few steps from your condo. Here’s everything you need to know about what makes Kaanapali Beach so great.

The Best of Kaanapali Beach

Kaanapali Beach is famous for its white sandy beaches, great snorkeling, and beautiful views. The beach is about a mile long, running from Black Rock to Canoe Beach. There are countless ways to enjoy this beautiful place in Maui. Here are a few of our favorite activities:

  • Swimming & Snorkeling: The beaches are wide, and offer easy access to the water for swimming and snorkeling. The best snorkeling is around Black Rock (which is the north end of the beach). Be careful, however, the currents can be strong.
  • Cliff-Jumping: If you are more adventurous, Black Rock offers a great place for cliff diving. Or, you can simply sit on the beach and watch the more adventurous leap off the rock into the water!
  • Shopping: A long concrete walkway meanders through the shops along the beach. Whaler’s Village mall is filled with great stores and fun places to window shop and pick up a few items for your friends and family back home.
  • Dining: Whaler’s Village has many fantastic restaurants from which to choose. Step away from the waves for a bite to eat, or stop for drinks after strolling the beach in the evening.

The Best of Kaanapali Alii

Kaanapali Alii is the perfect resort for your Maui vacation. Not only are we located on the best beach in Maui,  we offer a wide variety of amenities that will make your vacation all the more relaxing and enjoyable. Here are a few things that make Kaanapali Alii the best choice:

  • Ocean Front: Why come all the way to Maui, only to stay far away from the beach? When you stay in beachfront accommodations, you’ll be able to see the ocean fro your room.
  • More Spacious: Our condos are much larger than the standard hotel room: Hotels are typically 400 square feet. Our condos are 1,500 to 1,900 square feet of luxury!
  • Golf: Kaanapali Golf Courses are located a short distance away – this legendary course is only steps away from your accommodations.
  • Luxurious: Each of our rooms has a private lanai (so you can watch the sunset each evening). And, our resort has many luxuries, including an oceanside event area, pool-side service, a large pool, and much more.

The Perks of Staying at a Maui Beachfront Condo in Lahaina

Imagine waking up in the morning, opening your windows to feel the fresh sea breeze on your face and the rush of the surf in your ear. You’ll have breakfast on your private lanai, the sun warming your skin as you savor your coffee and take in the view of the Lahaina beach. This is a typical morning for those who choose Kaanapali Alii as their Maui resort. For those who stay in one of our Maui beachfront condos, the perks and benefits are countless. Today, we’ll try to highlight a few of the major benefits you’ll enjoy when you stay at our world-famous beach resort.

 Icon-LeafYou’re On the Beach

The most obvious perk of staying in a Maui beachfront condo is that you aren’t close to the beach, you on it. Gone are the days of packing up your umbrella, beach tote and towel, and driving to the beach. Instead, all you have to do is step out the door: World-renowned Kaanapali Beach is directly in front of the resort – its golden sands beckoning and easy to access. When you stay on a condo on the beach, you’ll be able to spend more time actually relaxing by the shore, instead of gathering up everything you need for the entire day and spending time driving to the beach. And, if you decide you need an afternoon cocktail, massage, or simply want to take a nap in your room – you’re just steps away.

Icon-LeafSpacious Accommodations

Vacations are meant to be relaxing. Which is why we don’t understand it when people stay in rooms the size of postage stamps while they travel. Having a spacious room in which to relax is an important part of the unwinding process. When you stay in a Maui beachfront condo at Kaanapali Alii, you’ll experience four times more space than the standard hotel room. Our condos range from 1,500 to 1,900 square feet. Our condos are designed to be a home away from home – a tranquil retreat from your busy life. And, our condos have their own private lanais, which allow you to be in your room but still enjoying the beauty of Maui.

Icon-LeafCountless Amenities

When you book your stay with Classic Resorts, you’ll have access to countless amenities, and take advantage of our excellent customer service. For example, you won’t pay any resort fees, our accommodations meet our strict quality standards, and our daily maid service is absolutely free. When you stay at a Kaanapali Alii Maui beachfront condo, you are minutes away from the legendary Kaanapali Golf Courses, which offers a stunning panoramic view of the area. An added benefit is that you have complimentary, unlimited access to our new yoga studio, fitness center, and private tennis courts.

Stay at a Maui Beachfront Condo for the Most Relaxing Vacation

There are many perks to staying at a Maui beachfront condo. When you stay on the beach, you’ll be able to fully appreciate the beauty of Hawaii and the spirit of ohana (family) that permeates this magical, stunning place. Book your stay today!

Foodie Travelers Love Kaanapali Fresh and Kaanapali Alii’s Condo Advantage

Local-Harvest

We overheard a guest at the pool telling a friend why she only stays at the Alii: “I HAVE to have a full kitchen on vacation!  How else could I enjoy all the goodies I bring back from the (Maui) farmer’s markets?”

This got us thinking about a fun upcoming event, Kaanapali Fresh. On Saturday, August 31st they will be having a Grown on Maui Farmers Market at Whalers Village. Maui farms produce a bounty of fragrant coffee, native taro, fresh vegetables, colorful flowers, exotic fruits, sweet Maui Kula® onions, landscape greens, sugar cane, pineapples, seed crops, grass-fed beef and even seafood.

So after you have filled your basket at the Farmers Market come “home” to your fully equipped gourmet kitchen and take advantage of all your Alii condo has to offer. You can stock your favorite foods & beverages and savor the delicious bounty of Maui at any time of the day or night.  A full-sized refrigerator, contemporary appliances, and designer details will inspire you to play Top Chef!  The open-plan design of the condos offers welcoming spaces to gather with family and friends for easy meals including large private lanais overlooking the pool, beach, mountains, or tropical gardens.

We also have oceanfront gas barbecue grills which are another great gathering place reserved for guests of the Alii. Bring your favorite foods and beverages to the grills and a friendly Grill Master is available with cooking tips and complimentary rubs and marinades.  To make grilling even easier, the resort offers a wooden chest of complimentary picnic supplies including tableware, napkins, aluminum foil etc.

Kaanapali Fresh – Mixing it up!

Chandra-Lucariello-960x636

With only a couple of weeks to go before Kaanapali Fresh, each week we will feature an article, chef or farmer from their website. Let’s start getting excited for this fun, fresh event. Enjoy …….

The word “mixology” has come to mean an elevated and refined form of mixing drinks. It’s the art and craft of mixing cocktails by experimenting with new spirits and concocting new adult beverages.

The history of the cocktail is centuries old, and has become more sophisticated with time. Whether you’re stirring it up or shaking it up, it’s about layering and infusing the flavors of the drink.

According to mixology.com, the most important thing to remember when making (and understanding) a cocktail is the combination of three things: the base spirit, which gives the cocktail its main flavor; the modifier/mixer, which melds exceptionally well with the base spirit but doesn’t overpower; and the flavoring, which brings it all together.

Nowadays, many of the spirits, flavors and mixers are being sourced fresh and locally, following a food trend of the same. Pair them with equally fresh and sustainable produce and herbs, and you’ve got the recipe for an unforgettable drink with a distinct focus on local Hawaiian flavors that send your taste buds into hula heaven.

You’ll find quality cocktails including locally distilled spirits like Maui’s Ocean Vodka and Old Lahaina Rum being served at the second annual Kaanapali Fresh, a two-day end of summer event, over Labor Day weekend, highlighting all that Kaanapali Resort offers.

If you want to brush up on your cocktail repertoire, plan to attend the “Mixology – A Fresh Approach” class kicking-off Kaanapali Fresh on August 30. Master mixologist Chandra Lucariello will introduce us to her Hana Hou cocktail recipe made from Maui’s own organic Ocean Vodka and drinks using Old Lahaina Rum. There will be plenty of interaction encouraged, and appetizers and beverage sampling.

Chandra Lucariello, director of mixology for Southern Wine and Spirits of Hawaii and education director of the Hawaii chapter of the United States Bartender Guild, leads “Mixology – A Fresh Approach” on Friday, August 30 from 2 to 4 p.m at the Royal Lahaina Resort, part of Kaanapali Fresh 2013.

Tickets to Mixology are $26 and can be purchased at the event website.

“Perfect In Every Way…”

The most dramatic part of any vacation is the anticipation you feel as you insert the keycard into the lock of a hotel room that you are entering for the first time – – especially after you’ve spent 12 hours of flying time with 3 young children to get to your destination.

So you can imagine the excitement we felt when we opened the door to enter one of the
most gorgeous hotel/condo units we’ve ever seen.  We had reserved a 2BR, recently renovated suite facing the ocean and that’s exactly what we got.  The unit was immaculate – – clean, spacious, nicely decorated…. it was actually a luxury condo rather than a hotel room.  The beds were extremely comfortable (even the sleeper sofa was nice – – usually hotel sleeper sofas are not so nice when you unfold them), the kitchen was modern and fully equipped, the bathrooms were pristine, and the condition of the overall unit was excellent.  The highlight of our accommodation was that our 3rd floor lanai was literally 30 yards from one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen.  Great for swimming and people watching as you had surfers dealing with some challenging waves while mostly newlyweds strolled the walkway extending the entire length of Kaanapali Beach ending at Whaler’s Village on the north end – – a very nice shopping plaza (we saw an excellent and free hula show there).  As for the kids, they didn’t even miss the lack of a pool slide that a few other nearby hotels had – – dancing in the waves and attempting to body surf in the ocean right in front of the hotel was more than enough entertainment for them (and us parents as well).

So when you add it all up – – central location on a beautiful stretch of beach, pleasant staff, immaculate and spacious suites, wonderful views, great amenities – – it’s one of the best places you could stay at without sacrificing a bar of gold for the experience.  Bravo Kaanapali Alii !!!

“We love this place!”

Our family of five stayed here and absolutely fell in love with it.  We had a beautiful 2 bedroom (more like a 3 bedroom) unit overlooking the ocean and pool.  The staff could not have been nicer.  The pool area is not huge but it is very cozy and much more quiet than the pools at the resorts on the beach.  Speaking of the beach, the Alii has THE best beachfront in Kaanapali.  There are 8 state of the art grills overlooking the ocean for people who want to hang out on the terrace and eat steaks while they watch the sunset.  The charmingly busy oceanfront town of Lahaina is just a 10 minute drive away and it offers plenty of shopping, ice cream, people watching and food options.  At night many of the restaurants have live music which a nice added touch.  All in all, we had an amazing time, with no complaints, only great memories.  We would love to return someday!!
