“A spectacular place to stay!!!”
We have stayed at the Alii about 6 or 7 times and each time it gets better! The resort, amenities, staff and environment are the best! They bend over backwards to make your stay unforgettable! The location is superb for activities, restaurants and shopping all within walking distance.
The most common ingredients for Hawaiian barbecue marinades begin with brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic. We created, tested, and enjoyed this recipe so much we’re passing it on to you.
- 4-6 Chicken breasts or chicken thighs
- 1 1/2 Cup pineapple juice
- 1 Small can crushed pineapple (including juice)
- 1/2 Cup brown sugar
- 3 Tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 Cloves garlic
- 1 Fresh whole ginger root (peeled)
- 1 Sweet Maui onion
- 1 Tablespoon honey
- 2 Teaspoons pepper
Chop garlic, ginger, and onion. In a medium bowl combine all ingredients except chicken. Stir well. Separate one cup of the marinade into small pot. Marinate chicken in remaining sauce for a half hour to one hour in the refrigerator. Heat sauce in pot for 20 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Place chicken on grill and cook approximately 10 minutes on each side. Serve chicken and pour small amount of sauce from pot onto chicken. Bon Appetit!

“Fantastic – Luxury and Beautiful”
This condo (312) was beautiful! Walked out onto our patio onto the lawn and down to the beach. Our kids (12 and 10) just loved it. Walking distance to shopping and resorts. Absolutely beautiful and would love to go back. Great workout area, grill area, pools and the beach is spectacular. We stayed for nine days and would have loved to stay for nine more. The place is spotless and the staff is extremely helpful and conscientious. Can’t imagine staying anywhere else on Maui.
Maui is lucky to have a year round growing season and Kula Fields makes it easy and convenient to try Maui’s locally grown produce. Kula Fields Delivery is a Farmer’s Market on wheels, delivering fresh local produce, flowers, and grocery items to Lahaina every Thursday. Now you can order ahead of time and on-line!
This is a great service for those who don’t want to grocery shop but still would like to take advantage of their fully equipped kitchen at Kaanapali Alii and Maui’s wonderful local produce. The best part, the delivery fee is only $7.00!
